School District No. 67 (Okanagan Skaha) Board of Education is proud of the work that has been completed through our current Strategic Plan. The collective commitments of all of our staff over the past few years to ensure that student learning, safety and wellbeing have continued to be our primary focus has been exceptional, as has the partnership of our parents and guardians throughout the pandemic. As we move forward, the Board is looking to renew a strategic planning process with our community.

The renewed strategic plan will set the direction for the school district, guiding our goals, projects and financial stewardship for the next 5 years. This plan will be developed in consultation with rightsholders, community partners, parents, students, and staff as well as community members. As the Board builds its strategic vision for the next 5 years, getting feedback from our community will be critical in the Board’s work to shape this plan. Identifying our district’s core values, and confirming our mission and vision will be a central part of this work.

The School Act articulates the purpose of the British Columbia school system as being "to enable learners to develop their individual potential and to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to contribute to a healthy society and a prosperous and sustainable economy." The importance of our strategic plan will be to identify priorities of our community for the Board to help direct its work in governance, budget and policy as we respond to the needs of our students to provide them with the best learning experiences, and best life chances, possible.

We are starting our strategic planning process with a community survey to gather feedback. Please consider taking a few minutes to respond to the survey by selecting the link below that fits your connection to our district. Survey will close February 12, 2023!

If you have any questions or comments about the Strategic Plan or the process, please reach out. We would love to hear from you!
