📅 We Want Your Feedback on the Proposed 2026–27 and 2027-28 School Calendars

School District No. 67 (Okanagan Skaha) is inviting input from families and community members on the proposed 2026–27 and 2027-28 school calendar. Your feedback will help inform the Board of Education as trustees consider whether any adjustments are needed before final approval at the Board meeting on November 24, 2025, at 6:30 PM.

In accordance with Section 87.01(2) of the School Act, every board must prepare a school calendar for each school in its district and submit it to the Minister of Education by March 31, 2026. The proposed calendar must be made public at least one month prior to this deadline.

As part of this process, the District is required to provide an opportunity for parents and employee group representatives to share their comments with the Board of Education.

How is the number of instructional days decided?
The School Act outlines the minimum required instructional hours per year:

  • Kindergarten: 853 hours
  • Grades 1–7: 878 hours
  • Grades 8–12: 952 hours

What happens if changes are needed after the calendar is approved?
Any changes must follow the amendment process outlined in the School Calendar Regulation.

    All comments, feedback and suggestions will be reviewed by trustees before adoption of the school calendar(s) at a Board of Education meeting.
