School District No. 67 (Okanagan-Skaha) is committed to engaging with district stakeholders and the community for the 2022-23 Annual Budget process.

The Board of Education is responsible for the development of each year's budget. The operating budget provides for salaries, supplies and services, instruction, administration, operations and maintenance, and transportation. The fiscal year for this budget runs from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.

The Board of Education has created a Budget Advisory Committee. Members of the committee include trustees, staff, and representatives from partner groups. The Budget Advisory Committee will provide a report to the Board at the monthly Regular Board meetings. The work of the Committee will be to recommend to the Board of Education a balanced budget for the upcoming fiscal year.


Update: On May 30, 2022, the Board of Education approved the 2022-23 Annual Budget Bylaw.


2023-23 Budget Challenges

The district is facing significant budget pressures for the 2022-23 school year. Currently, the budget deficit is approximately $1,048,000. This means the Board will need to decide how to make reductions to the current operating budget in order to achieve a balanced budget.
