2024-25 School Calendar
Section 87.01(2) of the School Act indicates that "A board must, in accordance with the regulations of the minister, prepare a school calendar for each school in its school district for each school calendar year." This calendar must be submitted to the Minister on March 31, 2024.
The District is required to provide an opportunity for parents and representatives of the employee groups to provide comments to the Board of Education. This proposed calendar must be made public at least one month prior to March 31, 2024.
The final school calendar and feedback received will be presented to the Board of Education at the Board of Education meeting on November 29, 2023 6:30pm.

How are the number of days decided for each school year? The School Act determines the minimum number of hours for instruction that are required each school year. The minimum hours are: 853 for Kindergarten; 878 for Grades 1-7 and 952 for Grades 8-12.
What if a change is needed in the calendar? Should there be any changes to the school calendar, the Board of Education must follow the amendment process as outlined in the School Calendar Regulations.
